Jonathan Jones


Jonathan graduated from San Diego State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. His minor interest was in nutrition and from there went on to get his Masters Degree in Kinesiology at San Jose State University. Jonathan was hired by the L.A. Raiders in 1992 as an intern Athletic Trainer, Certified. Upon his graduation from S.D.S.U. in 1994 he was hired as the full time assistant trainer with the Raiders and in the same year voted to the N.F.L. Athletic Trainer Staff of the year earning the Ed Block Courage Award. In 1995 he was promoted to assistant Head trainer and Director of Rehabilitation for the now Oakland Raiders. Jonathan went into the private sector after leaving the Raiders in 1999. He developed his own fitness and rehabilitation business and has worked with thousands of clients from all walks of life. Jonathan teamed up with New Performance over 4 years ago after seeing his clients whose health and fitness improved dramatically after working with Matt Mahowald, the creator of New Performance. Under Matt’s tutelage, Jonathan has become a well rounded nutritionist with his past experience and education enhancing his skills.
 
Jonathan has enjoyed learning about, understanding and improving the human body since an early age. He is an accomplished athlete from as young as five in football, baseball, surfing, paddle boarding and running. In addition, Jonathan has served on advisory boards for companies such as Gatorade and Flexall as well as many key note speaking/hands on lectures throughout his career.

Jonathan is currently directing the exercise program with the DJ challenge and manages personal training, rehabilitation training and exercise specific training for athletes of all levels.
