Henry Hagenbuch came back strong this past weekend in his triathlon "Escape from Alcatraz." Placing 12th overall with a time of 2:09:29, he was really pleased with his overall effort.
Henry's report: "I exited the water in 19th (out of 20 Pros), quickly passed two competitors on the ¾ mile run to transition, and came out onto the bike eager to make up ground. Despite a 1:10 improvement on the bike, and posting the 11th fastest bike split of the day (50:32), I came into T2 in 16th , only having passed one competitor. Slowly but surely, I began picking off competitors on the run. With a ¼ mile left, I came up on Kyle Leto and was able to outrun him to the finish line, crossing the tape 12th in a time of 2:09:29. While battling a tough bout of Hay fever, I posted the fifth fastest run split (46:16) and narrowly missed the sand ladder time bonus to Bevan Docherty by one second (1:52-1:53)."
NPN is looking forward to Henry's advancement at his next race at the end of this month in Ixtapa, Mexico.
